EdiTrace can read EDLs with the following Type / Standard:

  • 24 FPS FILM
  • 25 FPS PAL FILM(1) ***
  • 25 FPS PAL VIDEO
  • 29.97 / 30 FPS NDF NTSC VIDEO
  • 29.97 FPS DF NTSC VIDEO

*** Note:

Used when film's telecine speed is 25 FPS. EDL frames must match film frames one for one, hence the EDL will run 4% fast. EdiTrace will create a true 24 FPS CHANGE EDL for EDLs loaded with this type. Where possible Cut Lists should be used.

When creating EDL files of separate video tracks, each EDL file must start at exactly the same point. Hence if there is no media at the sequence start point for a particular EDL, the EDL must contain a "Black" event starting at the sequence start point.
